Iowa Test of Basic Skills results

Share

If you think the ITBS or Iowa Tests of Basic Skills is just another IQ test for children then you’re wrong. The ITBS may consist of questions and exercises that measure a child’s mental ability but there’s more to it than just that.

ITBS results are very useful for both teachers and parents. In school, the ITBS serves as an assessment tool which can help teachers identify to what groups a child belongs. For instance, having a high score in the ITBS means the child is qualified to be with other children who are also just as smart as him or her. This can help teachers focus more on the kind of learning materials and activities to give children of the same intelligence levels.

On the other hand, the ITBS can also help parents. Once the results are in, they can decide which school to send their child to or what kind of motivation is ideal for him or her. Parents can also provide learning resources suited for their child’s level.
