G&T testing

There are numerous intelligence tests for children today and one of them is G&T testing. This particular test is given to children who show advance intellect and skills by the time they reach preschool or elementary. Many parents let their children take this IQ test to determine giftedness.

So why do children need to undergo G&T testing? Here’s why:

• It separates gifted children from average and slow learners. G&T testing helps in identifying those children who are exceptionally bright and talented and place them in special programs.

• Educators firmly believe that gifted children require special learning programs since they are more advanced than children their age. They learn faster and love a challenge. A regular classroom setting will only bore gifted children and prevent them from developing their characteristics.

• Children who are identified as gifted and talented earlier on are given more opportunities to develop their abilities. They’re enrolled in schools which specialize in special education for the gifted.

Just imagine how unfortunate it would be if you’re not able to know earlier on that your child is actually gifted and talented. Better let him or her undergo G&T testing long before he or she enters kindergarten or first grade than deprive the child of many learning opportunities.
